Youth Enrichment Summer Program (YES)
The Youth Enrichment Summer Program provides a selection of
enrichment classes for students in grades 1 through 9. This
program develops the imagination and talent of area youth in a fun
environment, while providing academic experiences and challenges.
Students may choose from several types of classes, such as science, math, literature, foreign language, crafts and technology. Each student has an opportunity to take two classes during the one week session. The programs are offered at the Silver Lake College campus and other community sites.

Young Artists Summer Program
The first Young Artist Summer Program was held at Silver Lake
College in 1970. It was initially directed toward students in Catholic Schools
that did not have an
art specialist to develop art classes at the elementary level. By
1973, the program was expanded to include all students in public
schools who were interested in creating art during the summer.
The Youth Artist Summer Program is a self-supporting program run through the SLC Art Department. Each summer a different area of art is explored. Classes are offered for the following levels of instruction 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8-9. This program is offered in three, one-week segments. Students are given an opportunity to take classes each week or to choose one of special interest to them each week focusing on a different art area.
