Application Process for Transfer or Degreed Students:
- Complete a Silver Lake College
Graduate Application.
- Official transcripts from all regionally approved post-secondary institutions attended
must be sent to the Admissions Office. The Registrar will
evaluate course work and results will be forwarded to
you.
- Request a transcript evaluation to apply your credits
previously earned to your area of certification.
- Copies of current teaching license, if applicable, must be
submitted.
- An interview will be arranged with an education faculty member
from your particular area of certification. Formal acceptance into
the Teacher Education Program will be granted after the following
requirements have been met.
Entrance to Program
Requirements:
- Submission of formal application to Director of Teacher
Education
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Passing scores on the three components of PPST
- Demonstration of competency in computer technology
- Completion of the following core courses or their equivalent with at least a C
grade:
- Teaching Diverse Learners
- Orientation to Teacher Education
- Media Production Techniques
- Completion of State Background Check
- Formal Interview with Program Director and Director of Teacher
Education
- Recommendation of Teacher Education Committee
