Head Coach: Ryan Roberts
After a one-year hiatus, Ryan Roberts is back as the head cross country coach at Silver Lake College in 2015. He previously served as head coach from 2010 to 2013. Ryan's goals for the team include building program numbers, maintaining team academic excellence (as evidenced by multiple Academic All-Americans in recent years) as well as continuing to have runners represent Silver Lake at the USCAA National Championships.
Ryan is a Manitowoc native and a 1996 graduate of Roncalli High School in Manitowoc. He holds a B.A. in History and a Minor in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (2001) and a M.S. in Student Personnel Administration from Concordia University Wisconsin (2008). Ryan also has officiated and coached various sports in the high school and junior high school levels. In addition to coaching cross country, Ryan serves as Silver Lake College's Assistant Director of Admissions-Office Operations.
Assistant Coach: Taylor Blattner
Taylor Blattner is a former Silver Lake College cross country standout who earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology in May 2015. She joined the Lakers as an assistant coach in 2015. "It brings me much joy to be back on campus as the assistant cross country coach," Taylor said.
Taylor's passion for cross country began in eighth grade, when her mother signed her up for the sport. "Little did I know I would find so much happiness in running competitively," said Taylor, who competed in cross country for Green Bay Preble High School before attending Silver Lake College.
Taylor said she strives to "not only push our athletes to be the best runner they can be, but also inspire them to be the best person they can be."
