Hi! I’m Tara Stewart and I’m the very excited and ambitious women’s volleyball coach here at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family.
I’m originally from Kewaunee, WI, where I played Varsity volleyball for four years, earning 2nd team All-Conference and offers to play college volleyball at NC State or Southern California. At the time, I was not ready to leave home, so I decided to stay in Wisconsin where I attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay and earned an Administrative Assistant Associate Degree. I am currently attending Silver Lake College majoring in Psychology with a Family Services minor. I will graduate May 2015. I LOVE attending SLC.
I currently reside in Two Rivers, WI with my husband Mike and our two children, Brandin and Morgan.
I started coaching in 1999 in Kewaunee at the 7th and 8th grade level, then I moved to Freshman in 2000 at Bayport High School and Junior Varsity in 2001 at Green Bay East High School. For the next nine years I took time off from coaching to get married and start a family. When the opportunity came for me to get back into coaching, my ever supportive husband told me to go for it. So, in 2010 I found myself once again coaching, this time at the club level, for Wisconsin Volleyball Academy out of Appleton, WI. I am still presently coaching for them. I also jumped at the opportunity to coach high school volleyball again, so I pulled double duties as the Assistant Varsity coach at Sheboygan North High School from 2010 to 2012.
I am a very passionate and committed coach and I’m super excited about this opportunity. I am looking forward to building a great volleyball program here at SLC based on passion, commitment, goals, and community involvement.
Go Lady Lakers!
