Spanish Minor
The Spanish Program offers a Spanish minor and teaching
certification in Middle Childhood/Early Adolescence. The minor courses are
chosen to foster competency in understanding, speaking, writing, and reading
Spanish according to ACTFL oral proficiency standards. Cultural awareness is
also an important objective for students choosing to minor in Spanish. A
placement test is required for those students who have had Spanish classes and
are entering their first Spanish class at Silver Lake College. Immersion
experiences are available to all students and are required for teaching
licensure.
