Strategic Plan Initiatives

  1. Academic Improvements

Academic ImprovementsOur academic programs are the heart of what we do, so we are working to improve them based on what our students want and need.  We will integrate our curriculum to make the most of the connection between the liberal arts and professional studies while focusing on creating diverse academic experiences for our students.  By improving our liberal arts offerings in light of the Franciscan Intellectual tradition we hope to create a culture of Servant Leadership, providing opportunities for our students to give back to their community and take on leadership roles.  Providing new and improved programs as well as more technology-based curriculum will help our students fulfill their goals in the workforce.
  2. Maximizing Human Resources

Maximizing Human ResourcesPeople are part of the experience of Silver Lake College.  In the coming years, we will focus on growing our already talented faculty and staff to their highest potential.  By increasing diversity among them and offering more professional development opportunities we can improve efficiency and increase innovation across the campus.
  3. Building a Student-Centered Culture

Building a Student-Centered CultureWe’ve always been friendly, and in the coming years we hope to make our processes even more so.  By focusing on the students’ experiences and providing clear communication and customer service, we will create more and more user-friendly methods for common requests.
  4. Improving Facilities

Improving FaciltiesThe coming years will see a makeover not only for our programs, but for our physical campus in its entirety.  Having moved into Phase I of our Campus Master Plan, renovation is already underway in our new and state-of-the art Clare Hall Residence.  Coming up next are plans to build a Student Athletics and Fitness Center, as well as a Music Performance building.  In fact, wholesale improvements will be made to our current spaces as well, transforming our campus to meet the needs of our students.
  5. Enhancing Enrollment & Finances

Enhancing Enrollment & FinancesOur student population is our motivating factor.  By increasing and diversifying our enrollment, we will provide a more dynamic campus community with more opportunities, involvement and interests.  But it doesn’t stop there…by increasing our resources, including endowment for student aid and the annual fund for general operations, we will provide more opportunities.  The alumni population will be our focus as well, with our aim to provide a dynamic environment of communication between alums and the College.
