Competencies

  TEACHER LEADERSHIP  

The program is designed for experienced classroom teachers who wish to develop knowledge and skills that will allow them to take a more active professional leadership role. The underlying premise is that classroom teachers must be on the front line of creating the vision for the future that will lead to significant and lasting school reform.

  Curriculum

Delivery

A set of Core Courses (18 credits), an option for a  specialization, and a culminating seminar Schedules designed  for the convenience of
in-service teachers
  • General Education: Adult Education,
    Curriculum & Instruction,
    Reading (316 license)
  • Special Education: Cognitive Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, Learning Disabilities, Visual Impairment
  • Core courses scheduled in a cycle so students can move smoothly through the program.
  • Evening and weekend courses during the academic year
  • A variety of different scheduling patterns during the summer session
Culminating seminar: work characterized by originality and the promise of benefit to both the student and those whom the student serves.

Silver Lake College offers the Master of Arts in Education degree at sites throughout the state of Wisconsin. The off-campus offerings are limited to the Curriculum and Instruction track.
