TEACHING LICENSURE
READING 316
Candidates desiring to obtain the license without pursuing the master of arts degree simultaneously must successfully complete the following four courses:
Reading 316 License requirements
EDU 571 Developmental Reading I: PreK-8
EDU 572 Developmental Reading II: 6-12
EDU 573 Diagnosis of and Response to Exceptional Reading Needs
EDU 574 Developmental Reading Practicum
Note: A graduate or undergraduate course in adolescent or children's literature must be on the candidate's transcript. Silver Lake College's course Literature for Teachers will meet this requirement.
SPECIAL EDUCATION
- Candidates in the graduate program who wish to extend teaching licenses must take all the
courses specified for the specialization area.
ADMINISTRATIVE LICENSURE
Candidates may select tracks in the Administrative Leadership program which lead to
one or more of the following Wisconsin licensures:
- Principalship (K-12) (#51)
- Director of Instruction (#10)
- Director of Special Education and Pupil Services (#80)
- School Business Administrator (#08)
Candidates must meet all institutional and state competency requirements.
- Procedural Note: Acceptance into the Master's program does not imply acceptance for
certification. This must be applied for separately.
