Mathematics Minor Program

The Mathematics minor program offers a sequence of courses for non-mathematics majors who wish to combine mathematics courses with their academic major.

Core Requirements (23 Semester hours)

  1. MTH 201 Calculus I 4
  2. MTC 202 Calculus II4
  3. MTH 271 Probability and Statistics3
  4. MTH 300 Foundations of Mathematics3
  5. MTH 400 History of Mathematics3
  6. 2 MTH Electives * 6
* Excluding MTH 120, MTH 110 and MTH 111, electives stipulated for students seeking teaching certification.

For Mathematics Teaching Licensure

Students with a Mathematics minor seeking teacher licensure in Mathematics (#400) for early adolescence/adolescence are required to possess a certifiable major and complete the following:

  3. MTH 301 Modern Geometry (MTH elective) 3
