Chemistry Minor
Chemistry Minor Program Goals
The Science student pursuing a minor in Chemistry will:
- Observe the global input of scientists into the current knowledge of chemicals and chemical changes;
- Summarize data and devise theories and models that assist in explaining existing facts and address current situations;
- Relate everyday chemically related problems, technical and research problems using a logical planned approach;
- Ask questions and seek answers about the properties and interactions of materials;
- Use the broad chemistry background to pursue science-related careers for which chemistry is fundamental;
- Develop a respect and appreciation for how chemistry relates to the environment, to business and industry, to the benefit of society;
- Integrate civic/environmental problems with chemistry solutions.
