Nursing Partnership
Silver Lake College + Bellin College of Nursing
The nursing education program offered by Silver Lake and Bellin College of Nursing provides a special brand of professional preparation. This unique partnership extends a compelling combination of the theoretical and the practical: an absorbing exposure to an interdisciplinary, liberal arts-based college curriculum along with a rigorous, clinical-based nursing education.
Students may choose on of the following three options for acceptance into the Bellin Bachelor of Nursing Program:
- Traditional 4-year option
- The Traditional Option is designed for students who have or will have a high school diploma at the time of enrollment and have 11 or fewer transferable college credits. Students take the required liberal education courses at Silver Lake College. All nursing courses are taken through Bellin College of Nursing in Green Bay. Students dually apply to Silver Lake College and Bellin. Application deadline is July 1st. Prerequisite: GPA of 3.5 and ACT of 23. Traditional students begin as freshmen students and complete the BSN degree in four years.
- Sophomore Transfer Option
- Applicants to the Sophomore Transfer Option must have completed the entire freshman required liberal education courses (29 credits) and have a minimum GPA of 2.7 in accepted transfer courses. Students take the required liberal education courses at accredited 2 or 4 year institutions, such as Silver Lake College. All nursing courses are taken through Bellin College of Nursing in Green Bay. Classes begin in the summer with two nursing courses. Students are able to complete the program of study in a summer session and three years. applications open one year prior to entrance. An official transcript of credits from other institutions is sent to Bellin for evaluation upon acceptance into Silver Lake College.
- 15-Month Accelerated Transfer Option
- Applicants to the 15-Month Accelerated Transfer Option must have
completed 60 required liberal education courses and have a minimum GPA
of 2.7 in accepted transfer courses. The 60 credits must meet a
distribution of credits in the following areas: human development,
statistics, business, communication/writing, diversity, science, social
science, humanities and 6 upper division credits.
The program of study is designed in 8-week blocks to be completed in 7 consecutive terms (15 months). Students enter in January and graduate after 15 months of coursework in May of the following year. Applications are accepted one year prior to entrance.
