Silver Lake College has chosen to develop a living-learning student resident community within the City of Manitowoc, WI. Our reasons for doing so are four-fold:

• to promote the development of COMMUNITY;
• to help foster the development of INDEPENDENCE;
• to give attention to the desire for healthful PRIVACY; and
• to provide the greatest opportunities for CONVENIENT living.

The college has chosen to address the issue of an isolated college experience vs. a "community-immersion" experience wherein both the College and its students can become involved in opportunities for collaborations and partnerships. These living-learning experiences empower our students for responsible citizenship.
