Silver Lake College Safety Policies and Procedures

Fire/Evacuation Procedure: 

  • Sound the red fire box alarm, if fire is spotted
  • At the sound of the first alarm leave the building in an orderly fashion
  • Assist anyone who may need help
  • Last one out of a room close the door.
  • Remain out of building until notification is given

On Campus Crime/Emergency Procedure: 

  • Dial: 0 for Receptionist, or 137 for Student Services (8:00 am - 8:00 pm), or (920)682-4200 for the Sheriff's Department

Annual Campus Security Report: 

All colleges and universities that receive federal student financial aid funds must annually publish a campus security report by September 1. The report is mandated by the Student-Right-to-Know and campus Security Act of 1990. The Annual Campus Security Report, recorded by the Vice President/Dean of Students Office at Silver Lake College, consists of Crime Statistics and Crimes of Prejudice Statistics based on incidents reported to campus security authorities.

Severe Weather Procedure:  

  • The all-call system will be utilized to announce sever weather
  • In case of severe weather, go to designated shelter area
  • Remain in the shelter area until the all clear is given

Injury/Illness:  

  • Render assistance if knowledgeable.
  • Dial: 0 for Receptionist or 137 for Student Services, or call 9-911 from an unrestricted phone if life threatening
  • Remain with/assist the injured person
  • Assist with a report as required
  • All incidents are confidential.
