The Department of History and Social Sciences at Silver Lake
College is committed to the education of the whole person through
exploration of a wide range of disciplines, including psychology,
history, family studies, anthropology, geography, political
science and sociology. The department aims to assist students in
developing skills of critical thinking, conceptualization of
knowledge, and information mastery, and provides intellectual and
personal tools that allow students to develop as independent and interdependent scholars, and as citizens. The Department of Social
Science and History provides cross-disciplinary,
interdisciplinary, and discipline-specific learning experience.
