SLC Student and Alumni Awards

Freddy Award

This is Freddy the Pheasant, SLC's mascot. He personifies the building of a spirit of fraternalism on our campus.  Since 1976, a "Freddy Award" has been given yearly to four students from the Junior and/or Senior classes. One also is given to a Faculty, Staff or administrative member for "fostering the fraternal spirit within and beyond the college community." The award is presented at the annual Awards Banquet at the end of the year.

Alumni Awards

The awards program intends to recognize alumni for outstanding achievement in their professional and community life, and to honor alumni for their continued commitment to the college and its values. The awards for which alumni can be nominated include:

  • Outstanding Alumni Award: for alumni who have achieved success in their professional life, demonstrated personal integrity, and contributed services to the church, community, or college.
  • Professional Achievement Award: for alumni who have achieved excellence in their chosen profession and demonstrated a philosophy of service consistent with that profession.
  • Volunteer Service Award: for alumni who have demonstrated a history of extraordinary volunteer service to their community.
  • Sister Anne Kennedy Presidential Award: a man or woman religious who demonstrates leadership qualities and excellence in his/her professional life and actively supports the goals of Silver Lake College.
