Welcome back for the beginning of a new academic year! For our new students, congratulations on choosing Silver Lake College as your school! Silver Lake is a special place. If you are like me, you will feel the difference when you are on campus interacting with our students, faculty and staff. Our programs are centered upon you, the student, and offer a variety of opportunities to learn both within and out of the classroom. These include:
- A variety of engaging and academic programs that integrate the liberal arts in a way that help prepare students for the professional world
- Alternative spring break mission activities
- Campus ministry leadership endeavors
- Athletic opportunities in basketball and cross country
- Creative co-curricular activities such as dramatized readings at several public venues and writing for Silver Reflections … and many more
Silver Lake College is also in the midst of a significant planning process that is involving students, faculty and staff as we prepare for the future ahead. Planning for the future is one of the most important challenges and exhilarating experiences that we are involved in. It is hard to imagine a more exciting time to be at the College!
I am glad that you are with us. I encourage you to become actively involved in our learning community to grow personally and professionally as you pursue your educational goals and career ambitions.
