Silver Lake College will host its third annual Solo & Ensemble Recital on April 10 at 7 p.m. in Endries Hall, located in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance at 2406 S. Alverno Road.
“SLC Has Talent,” a talent show featuring Silver Lake College students, faculty and staff, will be held at 7 p.m. April 15 at the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, located on campus at 2406 S. Alverno Road. The event is free and open to the public. Judges will determine the top three prize winners.
Emilie Lindemann, Ph.D., an assistant professor of English at Silver Lake College, will be presenting a paper at the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association conference in Chicago on April 16. The paper is titled, “We’re Not Groupies, We’re in the Band: Femininity in Female-Fronted Indie Rock Bands.”
A variety of presentations led by Silver Lake College students will be spotlighted at the Spring Student Symposium, titled “A Celebration of Ideas,” which will be held Thursday, April 3, at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road.
Conservation Education Inc. of Manitowoc County will hold an Environmental Education Workshop at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road, from June 30 to July 2.
Robert Morneau, a bishop from the Diocese of Green Bay, will discuss “A Game Plan for Life: The Power of Mentoring,” a book written by John Wooden and Don Yaeger, at 12:15 p.m. April 8 as part of the Fr. Bill Zimmer Forum. The event will be held in the Heritage Room at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road. Admission is free.
An exhibit showcasing photos by Dale Van Minsel is on display now through June 30 at Lake’s Edge Gallery, located in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, on campus at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road.
Silver Lake College will conclude its 2013-14 Artist Music Series season with a concert by acclaimed pianists Diana Shapiro and Stanislava Varshavski.
