Majors offered in the accelerated-delivery format have specific entrance requirements and required foundation coursework.
All major programs require the completion of an integrated Liberal Arts Core of courses.
For business majors (Accounting, Business Management, and Human Resource Management), a minimum of one-third of the required courses for any accelerated major and minor must be completed at Silver Lake College.
The business majors are comprehensive; no minor is required but can be taken on an optional basis. (If a minor is selected, it must not duplicate courses that are part of the business core common to business majors.) A maximum of 12 credits of Independent Study and 12 credits in Special Topics courses is permitted with approval from the advisor and department chair.
Accounting majors must take at least three upper-level accounting courses (ACC 306, ACC 311, ACC 401, ACC 402, ACC 403) through Silver Lake College.
Proficiency in college-level math concepts that will enable success in MTH 130 or MTH 206 is required. (An assessment tool will be distributed at New Student Orientation for Adult Degree Programs.)
