Criteria for Admission to Teacher Education Program

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Completion of EDU 165 or EDU 180 with a grade of "C" or better
  • Passing scores in math, reading and writing components of the PPST
  • Completion of Background Verification Check
  • Current TB screening
  • Personal Interview with the Director of Teacher Education and Program Director
  • Recommendation of the Teacher Education Committee

Criteria for Enrollment in Upper Level Teacher Education Core Courses

  • Undergraduate degree-seeking candidates for state licensure must have passed one of the three components of the PPST with each of the other scores within two points of the cut score and have earned a GPA of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible for enrollment in Teacher Education core courses beyond the 200 level.
