Secondary Education Program
A candidate for a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree who wishes to obtain Wisconsin teacher licensure will meet all the requirements for the respective major and minor (or double major) and the Teacher Education Professional Sequence including successful clinics and student teaching. Praxis I and II requirements must be passed. This licensure prepares the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to teach students ages 10-21.
Develop knowledge, skills, and dispositions to work effectively with early adolescents to adolescents (ages 10-21) and their families.
Students seeking teaching certification in the Secondary/Middle Education Program (Early Adolescence - Adolescence) must meet the criteria of the Teacher Education Program as well as their chosen major/minor requirements.
Certification is available at Silver Lake College in the following content areas for
Adolescence (Grades 9-12) and/or Early Adolescence (Grades 6-9):
