Silver Lake College of the Holy Family and Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc are delighted to present the Father Bill Zimmer Forum, a book group for people of faith, on Tuesday, December 11, at 12:15 pm in the College Chapel. Participants are invited to come for lunch and fellowship in the College Café before the discussion. They may bring their own bagged lunch, or food is available for purchase starting at 11:30 am.

Sister Marie Kolbe Zamora, Theology Program Director for Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, will lead a discussion on one of the most highly regarded pieces of feminist literary criticism, A Room of One’s Own, by Virginia Wolf. This well-known essay meditates upon the historical and contextual contingencies of female literary achievement.

A native of Houston, Texas, Sr. Marie Kolbe holds degrees in Philosophy and Theology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston and a License in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Her areas of concentration include medieval theology and philosophy with a focus on the writings of Saints Francis, Clare, Bonaventure, and Thomas Aquinas; and systematic theology in general with a focus on liturgical theology, sacraments and ecclesiology.

Additional Zimmer Forum dates:

February 12: Rachel Muchin-Young, Public Service Coordinator for the Manitowoc Public Library, will lead a discussion regarding The Autobiography of God, a novel by Julius Lester.

March 12: Pastor Kim Henning of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ in Two Rivers will lead a discussion on The Pastor, a memoir by Eugene H. Peterson.

April 9: Pastor Grace Imathiu of First United Methodist Church in Neenah will lead a discussion on The Altar in the World written by Barbara Brown Taylor.
