Hamilton Wood Type Artist Talk

Posted on January 28 2013

Please join the Silver Lake College Art Department for a "guest talk" at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29th in Room 102 of the art wing (just inside the East Entrance).

Museum director, Jim Moran, will be joining us from the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum.  Moran will be discussing the museum's rich history, the art of the letterpress and the museum's current endeavors.

Located in Two Rivers, the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum is a local treasure.  It is home to one of the world’s largest premier wood type collections.  The museum/printing studio hosts international and national artists-in-residency, who utilize their working print shop, as well as Wayzgoose, a renowned annual type conference that takes place in the museum each November.  Schools from all over the country visit the museum to take part in workshops, and artists from all over the country submit prints to be exhibited in the unique space.

We are fortunate enough to have such an exciting resource in our backyard.

All are welcome.  Hope you can join us!
