Religious Journeys: Peacemaking

Posted on September 28 2012

The Silver Lake College President’s Commission on Diversity is pleased to host a panel discussion on Peacemaking as part of our Religious Journeys series. The public is invited to join in this thoughtful and faith-filled discussion at Silver Lake College in the Grand Lounge on the second floor. The event will be held on October 2 from 12:45-1:45 PM. Panel members will include Father William Van Dynhoven of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish in Manitowoc, Imam Mohamed Abdelazim of the Islamic Center of Wisconsin in Appleton, Pastor Kim Henning of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ in Two Rivers, Rabbi Sidney Vineburg of Anshe Poale Zedek Synagogue in Manitowoc, and Pastor Benjamin Schaefer of the First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Each year the Silver Lake College Community places particular emphasis on celebrating one if its four Franciscan Values of Community, Compassion, Peacemaking and Reverence for Creation. We are celebrating Peacemaking for the 2012-2013 academic year.
