Silver Lake College Presents Fall Choral Concert Friday Oct. 18, 7:30 pm

The Silver Lake College of the Holy Family choral ensembles, directed by Damon Carlson, will present their Fall Concert on Friday, October 18 at 7:30 pm. The performance will be held in the beautiful, 464-seat Bob & Pat Endries Hall in the new Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance at Silver Lake College, 2406 South Alverno Road, Manitowoc. The concert will feature the Silver Lake Chorale, Concert Choir and Children’s Choir, as well as the newly formed Silver Lake String Ensemble. Tickets are $5 for general seating, available at the door or in advance by calling 920-686-6173.

The Silver Lake Concert Choir is comprised of community members, students and alumni and will begin the concert by performing works by Beethoven, Noel Goemanne and Paul Basler. The Silver lake Children’s Choir will perform a festive processional, Good Cheer, an American lullaby, All The Pretty Little Horses, and To the Ploughboy, a folk song set by R.V. Williams, directed by Ms. Carol Storck. The newly formed Silver Lake String Ensemble will present Fantasia in G Major by J.S. Bach, and the Finale from G.F. Handel’s Water Music. The concert will close with the Silver Lake Chorale, the College’s flagship student ensemble of auditioned a cappella singers, performing works by Thomas Tallis, Henry Purcell, Anton Bruckner and Lloyd Pfautsch.
