The Bay Area Big Band is a 17 piece ensemble comprised of musicians in and around the Green Bay area and specializes in jazz, swing, 1940's big band and dance music along with some popular contemporary vocal tunes. The group has performed at various Green Bay venues including The National RailRoad Museum, Green Bay Botanical Garden, Lambeau Atrium for the annual HeartBall, other summertime parks and outdoor activities as well as weddings and private parties. Created at the inspiration of saxophonist friends Kellie Beno and Cindy Swain, Bay Area Big Band is comprised of friends from many backgrounds including a university professor, engineers, welder, teachers, animal veterinary care, massage therapy, sales and human services. Players range in age from retirees to young people and share the common interest of making music they love, to get the audience dancing in the aisles! The band will delight the audience with toe-tapping music by Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin, Rogers & Hart, Michael Buble and others, and will feature the silky vocals of Sarah Saari.
